A Gridiron Goddess Administrative Note: Yeah yeah I’m here!

October 30, 2008

Hey football fiends!
Am working on the weekend picks for CFB and NFL. Also working on a look at the current BCS standings and the potential for my Trojans to move on up. In an unbiased way, of course! 😉

Have had a busy week filled with PAID work. Which is, you know, GOOD. I need to plan my next vacation. Am thinking Puerto Rico. A surf trip. Am serious. LOL

You know the drill. 16 games. 32 teams. 16 winners. 16 losers.

Here are my College Football Picks for Week 9:

Auburn over WVU

Boise State over San Jose State

Illinois over Wisconsin

Texas A&M over Iowa State

Florida over Kentucky

Ole Miss over Arkansas

BYU over UNLV

Vandy over Duke

Cal over UCLA

USC over Arizona (now we all know this is exactly the type of game in which my Trojans have a tendency to stumble. Only they won’t. USC by 3 tds, y’all)

Bama over Tennessee

Oklahoma over Kansas State

South Florida over Louisville

Nebraska over Baylor

Mizzou over Colorado

Ohio State over Penn State

ETA: I’ve been asked “What about Texas-Oklahoma State?” I pondered this and left it off for a reason. I think Oklahoma State will win it. And am not sure if it is because I am Hater or because I truly feel OK St has a shot.

Congrats to Mike Singletary, new Head Coach of the 49ers!

October 20, 2008

I’m Samurai Mike I stop’em cold.
Part of the defense, big and bold,
I’ve been jammin’ for quite a while,
Doin’ what’s right and settin’ the style,
Give me a chance, I’ll rock you good,
Nobody messin’ in my neighborhood.
I didn’t come here lookin’ for trouble,
I just came to do The Super Bowl Shuffle

BCS Week 1 Rankings

October 19, 2008

I’m not complaining too loudly, Football Fiends. My Trojans do have that unfortunate loss to the Beavers. (heh heh heh) However, Texas is not going to be undefeated by season’s end. I’d really hoped that Mizzou would get the job done this week for me, but c’est la vie, eh?

Here’s the BCS Top 10, week 1:

1. Texas
2. Alabama
3. Penn State
4. Oklahoma
5. USC
6. Oklahoma State
7. Georgia
8. Texas Tech
9. Ohio State
10. Florida

Now THAT is what I am talking ABOUT!

October 19, 2008

28-0 and 69-0 on the two weeks I don’t watch USC football?

I guess the Curse is over. See, as long time readers know, for a LONG LONG time, if I missed a USC game or tivoed it and did not watch in real time, they lost. (Exhibit A: 2003 triple OT loss to Cal at Cal. Exhibit B: Stanford at USC 2007.) So like any good superstitious sports fan, I went above and beyond to make sure I saw a game.

I’m not embarrassed to admit I was a bit nervous about these two games during which I was flying at game time.

And OHio State and UVA winning yesterday can only help the BCS rankings that come out today.

If I am not making perfect sense here, be aware, I literally got home from Aruba an hour and a half ago after traveling for 20 hours. And also? My liver is pickled.

In the meantime, for my male readers here is a video Live from USC Song Girl Tryouts. Yes, you’re welcome. (Special thanks to Pete Carroll and USCRipsit.com)

More after a nap!

Be back on the 19th! I’ll have some rum punch for you!

October 10, 2008

OK Football Fiends–
Though it is against my religion to go on vacation during football season, well, your bestestestest friend in the whole world only turns 40 once. And you only win a contest for free airfare for you and 8 pals once. (I didn’t win, my BFF’s husband did. Or, as I call him, My Best Friend Once Removed)

So off to Aruba I go with 8 of my friends! We’re bringing the party with us.

I might check in and post, I might not. Let’s just plan on me updating picks and stuff on the 20th.

In the meantime check out my friends at Playing The Field!
