Happy Thanksgiving from Gridiron Goddess

November 27, 2008

Football Fiends,

I hope this holiday finds you surrounded with friends, family, good food and good times. My pals over at Trojan Wire said it so perfectly that I am going to echo them here:

Happy Thanksgiving from TrojanWire

We’re thankful for many things, from Coach Carroll to the nastiest defense in all the land. But most of all, we’re just thankful to not be UCLA, Notre Dame or Detroit Lions fans.

A Message from USC President Steven Sample

November 25, 2008

USC

November 25, 2008

Dear USC Community:

During this terrible fire season, I want to make sure that USC is doing all that it can to assist any member of the Trojan Family who has been affected. At this time we know of a few students, faculty, staff and alumni who have lost their homes, and we want to get the word out that, as Trojans, we are here to help if we can.

If you or your family has been displaced by the fires or you know of a fellow Trojan who has lost his or her home, I hope you will contact the USC Alumni Association at (213) 740-2300.

I want to commend our students, faculty, staff and alumni who are contributing to relief efforts. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who have suffered personal losses.

Sincerely,

Steven B. Sample
President

The Holy War: Utah vs BYU. Live from Salt Lake City

November 22, 2008
GridironGoddess In Salt Lake City watching The Holy War (Utah v BYU) with some Utes, some Cougars, a USD Torrero and Me, the Trojan who is texting a cute Bruin she met last night.

GridironGoddess All tied up in Utah. The BYU fans here going nuts. I continue to think that USC would KILL both of these teams, of course. And am smug about my superiority, also of course.

GridironGoddess Game I care most about is Oregon State – Arizona. Come on Arizona!

GridironGoddess BYU fans are getting cocky. 😉

GridironGoddess Penn State has locked up the Rose Bowl. Who will they face – USC or Oregon State? Stay tuned

GridironGoddess The whole Mountain West is rooting for Utah, except BYU of course. The conference needs the BCS money. UNLV football team can’t afford to fly to their games, they took a bus to their SDSU matchup.

CFB Picks week The Season has flown by too fast

November 21, 2008

Hey Football Fiends!

Did ya hear? GridironGoddess.net is one of the Top 100 College Sports Blogs. Pretty f-in cool, eh?

I’m in Salt Lake City and getting ready to head out to the stadium to check out the set up for the showdown between undefeated Utah and their cross-town rival BYU. These folks out here are SERIOUS about this rivalry. It’s like USC-UCLA, but with colder weather. Holy Mother of God it’s cold here. I will not complain about 80 degree Southern California and Southern Nevada November temperatures again.

USC has the weekend off. And so you know, I am picking Oregon State to lose. And I will until they do. So take that for what it’s worth. Currently Arizona is favored by 2.5.

Utah over BYU

Ohio State over Michigan

Vandy over Tennessee

Ole Miss over LSU

Notre Dame over Syracuse

Washington over Wazzou

Oklahoma over Texas Tech

Penn State over Michigan State

Cal over Stanford

Arizona over Oregon State

UNLV over SDSU

Florida State over Maryland

VA Tech over Duke

Purdue over Indiana
