Oh Hi…I remember all of you.

Hey Football Fiends,

I will be making a repeat apprearance on Toronto’s 103.9 the Hawk morning show on Friday to discuss the Super Bowl.

Between preparing for that and other work commitments, time has been a little scarce lately.

I will have a post on Tuesday and I’ll have a piece on the Super Bowl on Friday. Then I am moving, so I’ll be gone for a few days at least, a week at most.

After that, things will get back to normal here at Gridiron Goddess. We’ll have a new Super Bowl Champion and the NFL draft to look forward to.

Jets hire Gruden…?

Sources claim NY Jets hired Jon Gruden as coach. Am looking for confirmation…

NFL Conference Championships Picks: I do not want an all PA Super Bowl.

Seriously football fiends. If it is an All Pennsylvania Super Bowl, I just might have to boycott. And it would pain me to miss the last football game of the season. The off season is just too damn long, you know?

I am struggling with the Cards-Eagles game. I’m having a hard time separating what I want from what I think the outcome will be. Plus, the Iggles, you just can’t trust them. McNabb has something to prove. But so does Kurt Warner.

So I’m going with:

Cardinals over Eagles

Steelers over Ravens

Gruden out at Tampa…

Tampa Bay Bucs fired Jon Gruden today.  Unconfirmed rumors have Mike Shanahan as the leading contender for the job.

General Manager Bruce Allen was also fired.

Hey Bucs! I’m available! And I have family in Tampa.

Further thoughts on Mark Sanchez

Hey Football Fiends-

I’ve given it some thought and while I do not think Mark Sanchez is A. Ready for the NFL or B. Ever gave USC his ALL/Lived up to his hype, I can see the logic in entering the draft this year.

If he goes in the 2009 NFL Draft, he becomes arguably the #1 QB, definetely top 3.

If he goes in the 2010 NFL Draft, he’s in the same class as Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy. So yeah, this makes sense.

Time to reload Coach Carroll!

I am breaking up with Mark Sanchez

Yes Football Fiends, my crush on USC QB Mark Sanchez is officially over.

Why, you ask?

Because he is leaving USC for the NFL after exactly ONE season at the helm of SC’s offense. And it was a year in which, let’s face it, the offense looked bi polar. Sure, Sarkisian and Holt are leaving; but Coach Carroll has proven he can reload with nary a hiccup. I mean we lost Norm Chow and it was hardly noticable the following year!

Sanchez is good. But it is my opinion that with another year running USC’s offense, he’d be spectacular. A college QB should have more than 1 year as a starter. Sometimes it’s not possible, they backup someone just a year older than they are. This is not the case with Sanchez.

He’s chosen dollars over greatness.  That is never a choice I like to see made.

This is, of course, my opinion.
